Easter Message

Easter is a glorious time and is celebrated by all the Christians throughout the world. The word Easter comes from ‘eostre’ which is an old English word for spring. Easter is a time of rebirth when nature comes alive after the harshness of winter. Thankfully we are enjoying a lovely spring but all is not well in the world. This Easter will be like no other we have experienced in living memory. All of humanity have been at the mercy of this deadly virus. Every possible effort is being made to contain and eventually control this virus. We salute all those who are making enormous sacrifices in this regard, i.e. our doctors, nurses, and other frontline workers. We think of all those in our hospitals and nursing homes. All those in our local communities who are striving to make daily life as normal as possible. At Easter we celebrate the resurrection of Christ and we believe that through this all of humanity is uplifted and that all have a future after our limited time in this world. While the cross reflects our sufferings and especially the present crisis this will pass because of our hope, patience, resilience, and solidarity. This is the spirit of the resurrection at work within us.

Easter greetings to all in the Croom and Banogue communities and the wider area. Also to all our exiles throughout the world.
